Hello folks, I am Matt and yes I do have chronic pain, but I have learned to manage this over the years. I am the typical military guy who jumped out of too many airplanes and walked many miles with heavy loads, hence I have arthritis, a replaced disk and joint issues. However, I reject a sedentary lifestyle and I continue to run, lift weights and remain active within my community. I use CBT techniques to ensure a better quality of life and anti-inflammatory medications. I have tried operations to address some joint issues with some success. Hence, I continue to run and be active.
At times, I do feel like a zombie (based on chronic dull aches...some sharp if I do the wrong things. Pacing is the key...do too much and you feel like a Zombie...do too little and you go down hill as I have see many of my friends do in the past.
How do you deal with pain?
